Gift Giving Got Better

We teamed up with @zipRAISE http://zipraise.com/collections/MAWS – the gift card fundraising website, to turn your everyday shopping into fundraising! It’s simple - everyone buys gift cards, particularly around Christmas; for every purchase made, MAWS receives a percentage! Be sure to do your shopping with zipRAISE and thanks for your support! http://maws.zipraise.com/

Award for the Portage Family Abuse Prevention Centre

Domestic Violence shelters are the unsung heroes in our society today.  It's unfortunate but true.  The unfortunate part is that shelters are needed, the fortunate part is that they exist to do their much needed work.  On that note I'd like to sing a little about the Portage Family Abuse Prevention Centre.  This shelter has recently received the honour of receiving the "Outstanding Not-for-Profit Business Award, presented by the Portage la Prairie Chamber of Commerce.  Congratulations to everyone involved with the Portage Family Abuse Prevention Centre!

L to R: Matthew Henderson, President of Chamber of Commerce; Robin B. PFPAC Staff; Joyce Schrader-Executive Director PFAPC and MLA Ian Wishart
Thank you for all your hard work!

Manitoba Author - Lisa Sobry

Manitoba based author Lisa Sobry, has published another book "I Survived and so can you". Sobry is unique in that she is a survivor of multiple abuse, has worked her way through it and is willing to talk about it. "Knowing that someone else has endured and survived gives us hope. Sharing these experiences allows us to begin our own healing process and assist thousands of others with theirs."  http://lisasobry.com/Books.html.
